A passenger jet carrying more than 100 people has crashed in the desert in northern Mali. Officials lost contact with the Air Algerie plane during a flight from Burkina Faso to the Algerian capital Algiers. Almost half the passengers are French citizens. And international investigators including three Australians have uncovered new evidence including more human remains at the MH17 crash site in Ukraine. It comes as two more planes carrying the remains of victims arrived at the Netherlands. Investigators say they found a large part of the plane.

A landmark report released today shows pregnant women face widespread discrimination in the workplace. The Human Rights Commission has found almost half the mothers surveyed experienced discrimination either during their pregnancy, while maternity leave, or when they return to work.
And Israel has been accused of shelling a UN-run school in Gaza killing at least 15 people and injuring more than two hundred. Hundreds of Palestinians who had fled the fighting had taken shelter in that school. Israel's military says it's still unclear whether it was responsible for the attack. |
