Clive Palmer is defending his climate change deal with the government. The Palmer United Party has agreed to back the Coalition's direct action plan in exchange for several concessions. As part of the deal there'll be an eight-month investigation into an emissions trading scheme. Even though, the government remains opposed to the idea. We are not bringing back the carbon tax, absolutely clearly because it didn't work. It doesn't reduce emissions in any significant way, and it was 36-billion-dollar tax on Australian families and businesses.
