It's election day in the U.S. The big prize is control of the U.S. Senate which Republicans win if they pick up a total of 6 seats from Democrats. The entire House of Representatives is up for election. And many states are picking governors. Federal investigators say some pieces of the experimental space ship that broke up over California wound up 35 miles away. It's unclear what caused the accident killing one pilot.
UNICEF says it's doubling its staff to fight Ebola in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. The organization says Ebola has left 4,000 chilren orphaned in West Africa.
And the hot lava oozing down Hawaii's Big Island is within 500 feet of a town's main road. President Obama signed a presidential disaster declaration allowing federal emergency help for those affected by the lava.
