The president congratulated Republicans on gaining the majority in the Senate, and he vowed to work with the new Senate leadership as be compromised as he can. Meanwhile incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he'll work with the president. McConnell says the first thing he wants to do is to keep the Senate working again amid a gridlock in its function.
In China workers have ramped up production of hazmat suits then send them to the frontlines of the Ebola fight. Production is up 30 to 40 percent over last year. One hundred workers are producing 6,000 suits a day.
And in Tel Aviv veterinarians have devised a special high-tech mask for the rhinoceros Tanda. He suffers from a nasty ocular infection caused by parasitic flies who lay eggs in her eye. Her keepers say she was responding to both the treatment and the human contact.
