A top Indonesian search official says the missing Air-Asia passenger jet is likely at the bottom of the Java Sea. The plane disappeared Sunday on its way from Indonisia to Singapore with 162 passengers and crew. At least one person is dead as a smoke-filled ferry continues to drift in the Adriatic Sea. Dozens of survivors from the ship have reached dry land. The ship caught fire early Sunday with nearly 500 people on board.
Hundreds turned out at a vigil Sunday for a police officer who was shot and killed in Flagstaff, Arizona. Police say that a demostic violence suspect shot officer Tyler Stewart a number of times before killing himself.
And a surfer has survived a shark bite off the central California coast. Witnesses say the man was dragged under water by the shark and suffered a bite to his hip before swimming away.
