Indonesian officials say they’re confident that wreckage of Air-Asia flight 8501 has been located, after sonar equipment detected four massive objects on the ocean floor. The biggest piece appears to be part of the body of the jet that was carrying 162 passengers and crew when it crashed into the Java Sea on December 28th.

 

A 7-year-old girl who survived a plane crash in Kentucky that killed her parents and 2 other family members has been released from the hospital.  Federal Aviation officials arrived at the scene to try to determine why the small plane crashed in a rural part of southwestern Kentucky Friday evening.

 

A suspect in the 1998 bombings of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania has died in federal custody just days before his trial was set to begin in New York. His wife and authorities say AbuAnas al-Libi died Friday night of complications stemming from a recent liversurgery. He was 50.

 

And country music is mourning the loss of Little Jimmy Dickens. The oldest member of the Grand Ole Opry died Friday at a Nashville area hospital after suffered a stroke on Christmas day. Hewas 94.
