House Speaker John Boehner hasinvited Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint meeting ofCongress next month. He did so without consulting the White House. The high-stakes invitation came just hours after President Barack Obama told Congress in the State of the Union address that he would veto any sanctions legislation against Iran. 

 

The Colima volcano in western Mexico spewed a column of ash over 13,000 feet in the air. The volcano is 430miles northwest of Mexico City, and is one of the most active potentially destructive volcanoes in Mexico.

 

One person has died and another is critically injured following an early morning fire in Brooklyn. Police say the 5-alarm fire broke out just before 3:30 am in the Prospects Height section.
