1 Three bombings rip through restaurants crowded with foreign tourists on the Indonesian resort of Bali,killing at least 25 people and wounding scores. The blasts come nearly 3 years to the day that bombings by an Al-Qaeda linked terror group killed 202 people.
2 Indonesian President Susilo Yudhoyono called the blast a "terrorist act" and warned that more attacks were possible.Yudhoyono said that he had received information that militants were planning an attack in the nation's capital.
3 An improvised explosive device exploded near a civillian car in Fallujah on Saturday, killing one man and injuring two others. Violence has escalated in Baghdad, and other Iraqi provinces, two weeks ahead of the referendum on the country's new constitution on October 15th.
4.Venezuela removed Central Bank reserves once held as U.S. Treasury bonds and moved the funds to Europe and other countries. President Hugo Chavez said Venezuela changed their reserves because of threats from the US government.
5 A fire at a Russian navy ammunition depot caused artillery shells to explode, forcing the evacuation of thousands in a remote eastern region on Saturday. Some four thousand residents from five towns in Kamchatka Province were forced to leave their homes.
