Rescuers used a crane to hoist the fuselage of a wrecked Trans Asia Airways plane from a shallow river in Taiwan’s capital late Wednesday as they searched into the night for 17 people missing in a crash that at least killed 26 others.

 

Federal investigators are at the site of a deadly commuter train crash in New York, looking for clues to how the train was functioning and why the SUV that was crashed in the wreck was stopped on the tracks during rush hour Tuesday evening.

 

President Barack Obama is repeating his threat to veto a bill passed by the House that would overturn the executive actions limiting deportations for millions in the US illegally and giving them the ability to work. Obama spoke in the oval office meeting with six young immigrants who would be subject to eventual deportation under the bill.

 

The Super Bowl champion New England Patriots have been making their way through a snowy streets of Boston. Sunday’s 28-24 victory of the Seattle Seahawks was Patriots’ fourth NFL title.
