2. Delaware residents gathered at the state capitol to pay their respects to former attorney general Beau Biden. Beau Biden lay in honor in the Senate chamber following a procession from Wilmington to Dover. Biden, eldest son of vice president Joe Biden, died of brain cancer Saturday at age 46. 

 

3. Pro-Russia separatist fighters were being treated in a hospital at rebel-held area of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine following heavy fighting against Ukrainian troops. A major battle erupted on the western edge of the main separatist stronghold a day earlier, the most severe in months. 

 

4. A bear cub is making its way back home to the wild after being badly burned in a Washington wildfire last year. The two-and-half-old cub Cinder was found by rescue team burned and missing claws in the largest wildfire in Washington State's history.
