 January 10th, 1776Thomas Paine publishes "Common Sense", one of the most influential works of the American revolution. The pamphlet urges freedom for Britain’s colonies in America , just months before the declaration of independence.

1863 “All aboard but mind the gap” is the world's first underground passenger railway opens in London. It remains one of the largest till this day. 1964The Beatles’ first album in the U.S. introduce the Beatles hit store shelves. The following month, the fab four arrive in New York on their first American tour.
And 1945Singer Rod Stewart, 70’s * topper and songwriter is born in London. Today in History, January 10th, Sandy Kozel, the Associated Press.
