This is AP News Minute. 1. Stocks finished in the red again Tuesday, a day after a big drop amid worried operation markets. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down more than 200 points. Meanwhile Tuesday markets in China and Japan face continued losses. 2. A South Africa judge granted Nelson Mandala’s grandson bail. The 24-year-old was accused of raping a 15-year-old girl at a South African restaurant earlier this month. In Tuesday’s hearing, the judge said there was reasonable chance the trial could end in a quibble. 3. In Hawaii, heavy rain triggering a massive sweage spill near a popular beach. Officials closing Waikiki beach after a half-million gallons of sewage leaked in the area. 4. And the Cincinnati Zoo gives away one of its rhinos. An 8-year-old Sumatran two monster rhino will be moved this fall to a free facility in Indonesia as part of the program to boost the population for the critically endangered species. |
