China has vowed 'zero tolerance' on food safety crime. During a press conference on Monday. Agriculture Minister Han Changfu vowed to crack down on the illegal planting of genetically modified crops to protect public health. 

He said China will better the system to hunt down those responsible for food safety problems. At the same time, China will boost supply-side reform of agriculture, improving the quality of China's agricultural product. 

"Firstly, we will reduce the output of maize, especially in uncompetitive regions. Secondly, we will boost the output of soy beans as well as improve efficiency and benefits," 

"We will also improve the quality of milk, build better indigenous brand and restore the people's confidence in the domestic dairy industry," said Chinese Agriculture Minister Han Changfu.
