CCTV9英语新闻:China hopes to improve philanthropy through charity law(在线收听) |
Philanthropy is developing quickly in China. Fu Ying, spokeswoman for the annual session of the country's legislature said the charity law is aimed at protecting the rights of donors and the needy as well as punishing fraud.
"In terms of supervision, there's still room for improvement. Sometimes, people are not so confident of the result of their charity donation. So we need this law. Its purpose is to create a better legal environment ... so that those donors will be better respected and guaranteed, while the act of seeking help will be based on rules. Also, fraud will be punished. In this way, we can better promote socialist core values," NPC spokeswoman Fu Ying said. |
