The federal government is unveiling changes of the health system today with the focus on chronic illness. Prime Minister says the reforms are aimed at reducing the amount of inefficiencies by providing tailored health packages. “This proposal is about the medical home that brings that care together in one place, in one coordinated sense that looks after that patience, not just in primary care.” Health minister Susan Ley was on the program just a few minutes ago saying the 20 percent of Australians have two or more chronic illnesses. And that’s really what they are looking at with that one. Let’s go to the other news. A man is dead and a woman seriously injured after a stabbing at a restaurant in Sydney’s upper north shore overnight. Police say a man approached and started attacking the pair while they were dining at Westfield Hornsby. The woman is being treated for stab wounds to her chest and a punctured sternum (and said) that is Royal North Shore hospital. The young surfer has been saved by friends and paramedics after he was mauled by a shark near K of New South Wales south coast. B C was surfing about 100 meters off shore when the shark attacked mauling his leg. The beach is expected to be closed 24 hours and warning signs will be erected around the area this morning. |
