This is AP News Minute. An American serviceman has been killed in Iraq. Secretary of Defense Ash Carter annouced it on Tuesday. A US military official said the American was killed while performing his duty as an adviser to Kurdish Peshmerga troops. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton participated in an opioid drug abuse discussion where she shared his story of how a former intern died from opioid overdose. Clinton was part of a substance abuse addiction discussion while campaigning in west Virginina on Tuesday. A UN envoy to Syria and Russian foreign minister began talks in Moscow by reviving the stalled ceasefire in Syria. Staffan de Mistura said that May would be an important month for Syria and the international community as efforts continue to bring peace to the troubled country. The Brazilian torch relay for the Rio de Jeneiro Olympics has kicked off after the torch was ignited by embattled president Dilma Rousseff.
