Top 5 Songs for Week Ending Nov. 26 This is the Top Five Countdown! We’re giving thanks for the five most popular songs in the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Singles chart, for the week ending November 26, 2016. We have big news for you: we get a change at the number one position. Who’s your new champ? That’s yet to come… Number 5: DJ Snake Featuring Justin Bieber "Let Me Love You" Let’s start in fifth place, where DJ Snake and Justin Bieber dip a slot with “Let Me Love You.” Justin cleaned up at the American Music Awards ceremony, which took place Sunday November 20 in Los Angeles. Among his trophies: Favorite Pop/Rock Album; Favorite Pop/Rock Song, for “Love Yourself”; Video Of The Year, for “Sorry”; and Favorite Male Pop/Rock Artist. Number 4: Twenty One Pilots "Heathens" Twenty One Pilots didn’t fare too badly, either. This week the duo descends a notch to fourth place with “Heathens.” They performed Sunday night at the American Music Awards, while also winning two trophies: Favorite Pop/Rock Duo or Group; and Favorite Alternative Rock Artist. Number 3: The Weeknd Featuring "Starboy" The Weeknd and Daft Punk back off a slot to third place with “Starboy.” While he failed to collect on any of his three AMA nominations, The Weeknd still lit up the stage with his performance of this song. To top it all off, his Starboy album finally arrives on Friday, November 25. Number 2: The Chainsmokers Featuring Halsey "Closer" This week the Chainsmokers and Halsey slip to second place with their 12-week former champ “Closer”…and yes, they were onstage at the AMAs as well. In addition to performing this song, the Chainsmokers also earned a win for Favorite Electronic Dance Music Artist. Number 1: Rae Sremmurd Featuring Gucci Mane "Black Beatles" You can thank the Internet for our new champion single. Rae Sremmurd and Gucci Mane earn their first Hot 100 victories, as “Black Beatles” rockets from ninth to first place. How did this song do it? By becoming a viral video hit. “Black Beatles” is the unofficial soundtrack to the “Mannequin Challenge,” in which people shoot footage of crowds standing absolutely still…like mannequins. But the pop music scene never stands still, so join us in seven days for all the new developments. |
