1. Japan's prime minister Shinzō Abe arrived in Hawaii on Monday, where he is expected to visit the Pearl Harbor memorial and meet with president Barack Obama. Obama is spending his final vacation as president in his home state with family. 

2. Russian officials say divers have recovered fragments of the defense minister's passenger jet that crashed into the Black Sea. Divers found several fragments of the plane one mile away from the shore and 82-feet under the sea. 

3. Fans and well-wishers place tribute outside the home of pop superstar George Michael in Goring, England, following his death at the age of 53. Michael's manager on Sunday confirmed the death, saying the cause was heart failure. 

4. And hundreds braved cold winter waters in Prague to take part in the annual post Christmas Day swim. 400 swimmers competed in various races to mark the Prague Day holiday for Czech capital city.
