North Korea put on a massive military display, showing its intercontinental missiles amid rising international tensions on a holiday to mark the birth of the country's founding ruler.

With Tax Day approaching, thousands turned out in Washington and elsewhere to demand that President Donald Trump release his tax returns. Fights broke out between pro-and anti-Trump demonstrators in Berkeley, California with police making a number of arrests.

More than 100 people were killed when a bomb went off just outside Aleppo, Syria at a bus depot used for evacuations. There is no immediate claim of responsibility, but pro-government media and Syria's opposition exchanged accusations over the carnage.

After months of pregnancy, April the giraffe has given birth to a male calf at a New York animal park, an event that was live-streamed and followed by more than a million people around the globe. Up next, a naming contest.
