A former senior lawmaker from Xinjiang has been put under investigation for graft. Li Zhi is the former deputy head of the standing committee of the People's Congress in Xinjiang. The Party's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection has made the revelation on its website. Details of what Li Zhi is accused of have not been made public. China, South Korea and Japan have agreed to restore their trilateral meeting among their respective foreign ministers later this month in Seoul. Chinese vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin has made the announcement, saying the upcoming meeting follows a two year suspension. Liu says the impending talks will cover a wide range of fields to promote regional prosperity and stability. The trilateral talks were suspended in 2013 amid tensions over territorial and historical disputes. |
