Benchmark 基准 What is the benchmark?
It is a point used in the survey.
Usual, numbers used as benchmarks are five, ten, fifteen, twenty and so on.
Why is a benchmark important?
Without a benchmark, we cannot compare anything.
For example, let's say you ate strawberries.
Also you recorded how many strawberry you ate.
Did you eat a lot, or did you eat only a few?
If there is no benchmark, you will not know if you ate many or few.
But if more than five strawberries are many, you can say I ate six strawberries, so I had many strawberries.
The benchmark is five strawberries. |
