More and more strangely and fiercely glad and approving, grew the countenance of the old man at every shout; while the mariners began to gaze curiously at each other,  每一声叫喊,都使这老人的脸色越来越显得奇特和非常快活满意;水手们也都开始好奇地彼此面面相觑,

as if marvelling how it was that they themselves became so excited at such seemingly purposeless questions. 仿佛为他们听到这种似乎是毫无意义的问题,竟会如此激动而觉得诧异。
