Bridget: It was, as usual, crammed full with some of the most dangerous perverts in the UK, disguised as close, personal friends of my parents.

Bridget: Never. You always wonder how it's going to work out at the end of the story. Maria and Captain Von Trapp, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Mark Darcy and Bridget Jones. I've found my happy ending at last. Andnothing in the world can spoil it. Well, almost nothing.

Richard: Bridget Jones, what the fuck are you doing?

Bridget: I, I can't see anywhere soft to land.

Richard: How about on your ass? Bridget, unless you want toget sackedat 6,000 feet, you will be on your way in exactly three seconds. Three, two, one... cue Bridget.

Bridget: Skydiving, a dangerous bane to the countryside and emergency services, or a safe and exhilarating hobby? Well... Let's see, shall we?

Richard: Go. Jump. For Christ's sakes, go! Ok. She's out. Unit Two, you got her?

Man: OK, we see her.

Richard: Bridget, open the chute. Open it. Open your fucking parachute! Pull the thingy or you will die!

Bridget: Oh. Honestly, you forget just one teeny, weeny detail and everyone treats you like an idiot.

Bridget: Where was I? Oh, yes... Mark Darcy. The question is: what happens after you walk off into the sunset?

Richard: Bridget? Earth to Bridget Sodding Jones. Bridget,you're on. You're live.

Bridget: Well, this is Bridget Jones for Sit Up Britain, reporting to you from a big vat of excrement.

Richard: Unit two, give me a close-up of the porker.

妙词佳句，活学活用

1．jumper

jumper在特定的场合有着特定的意思。
A：跳跃者
He's a great jumper. 意思就是他跳得很高。在英文中这样的用法很多，在动词后面加上er代表一定的特征。举个很简单的例子，在《毕业生》这部电影中，Ben曾经说过这样一句话：He certainly is a good walker。意思就是说这人走的很快。

B：英国人口中的“套头衫”，是一种无袖的毛衫。我们熟悉的讲毛衫的词是sweater。jumper 和sweater在英国英语中都指套头的毛衫。在美国英语中，sweater也可以指那种有扣子的毛衫。

2．falter

falter的意思有很多，而且基本每个意思都是常用的。比如：
A： 支支吾吾、颤抖地讲
如：Her voice began to falter as she talked about her miserable past.
B：never falter 从来不会很差
这是在本片中的用法。My mother's taste never falters. 意思就是“我妈是个相当有品味的人”。也可说 His reputation never falters. 大家可以用不同的词来替换，关键是要把它变成自己的语言。

3．Nothing in the world can spoil it.

spoil这个词有“宠坏”和“破坏”两种意思，影片中用的是后者。

4．get sacked

很地道的表达方式，意思是“被解雇”。比如一个好友情绪低落，追问原因，才得知She's got sacked. 这个时候你就得多安慰她了。

5. You're on.

on 是很小的一个词，同时也是很难用的词，因为它的意思实在是太多了。在这里on是当“上场，开演了， 开始了”讲。 You're on意思就是“你上场了，已经开拍了”。What's on？就是“演什么呢？”

6．You're live.

“现在是实况转播。”我们经常听到的This is... on the spot. 就是“……在这里为你现场播报”。

Skydiving

Skydiving is a team sport. Two people are in the team, a skydiver and a video camera operator. The video camera operator videotapes the skydiver while the skydiver does gymnastics. After they've landed, the judge watches the videotape. The team gets point for good gymnastics in the air and good skydiving.

A time for self-improvement

Many Americans prefer recreation that requires a high level of physical activity. This is true of three fastest growing adult recreational sports: jogging or running, tennis, and snow skiing. Millions of Americans have bought mountain bikes to explore the wildness on their own. Many others are choosing to go whitewater rafting, mountain climbing, rock climbing, skydiving, helicopter skiing, and bungee jumping.
