Nothing But Vogue(在线收听

Coco is 13, and on the beginner 1)slips of shopping. She takes her 2)inspiration from teen magazines. There’s not much she doesn’t know about shopping, anywhere in the world.

Coco: I love to go shopping in Rome, right by the Spanish steps. They have a little kid’s shop with all the designer clothes for me, that’s where I love to go. And Paris, the Lebon Marche, I loved it there. I loved all the places in Europe to shop. I think what age I felt like I was marketed by companies was when I was 7 years old, and the GAP had the Aalentine’s Dayshirts. They had little cat shirts with the little 3)tiaras on. I would buy those, and I would love them.

Coco’s mother likes to help her daughter to shop, it’s a regular part of life for Coco to go to one of her favorite designer 4)boutiques.

Coco: I’m trying to 5)reinvent myself, you know, you can try to reinvent yourself in there. And it’s key, because they have so many different styles.

Cocos mother: My opinion is meaningless, ha, ha, ha. I’m just here to pay.

Coco: I’m trying to look very 6)cute and sexy, because I haven’t looked like that in the past.

Cocos mother: You don’t think?

Coco: Do you like this?

Cocos mother: No!

Coco: I like it.

Cocos mother: Ha, ha, OK.

Cocos mother: I go shopping, one way or another, almost every day, but with Coco, pretty much every weekend. She loves to go uptown also. And this is our favorite teen shop. This is a little Versace outfit. That is very cute on you. Occasionally I like some Versace, but only the 7)couture 8)stuff, the other stuff is a little too 9)trashy for me.

Coco: You know if you had something from Versace, it’s nice, you know, to have something from a designer. It’s nice, it just makes you feel good. And I know it’s not like the 10)anecdotes you want to make you feel good, but it’s true. I think I might buy it even if it wasn’t a Versace top, because I think it looks good on me. I think it fits me nicely, and I think it’s the fun 11)thrifty top that I want.

Cocos mother: I think it’s very stylish.

Coco: And style is everything. For Mary Ellen Cashman.

Cocos mother: Ha, ha. What did I add? A jewelry box for Coco’s Tiffany jewelry. Are you happy?

What Coco learns now, will define her behavior in the luxury-shopping world of the future.CE

CE
