The Russian military says it has successfully tested its latest intercontinental ballistic missile. President Vladimir Putin said that the Sarmat missiles can't be intercepted and are capable of striking targets anywhere in the world.

The widow of the gunman who killed 49 people at a gay Orlando nightclub has been acquitted on charges of lying to the FBI and helping her husband in the 2016 attack. Noor Salman was found not guilty of charges of obstruction and providing material support to a terrorist organization.

A British man accused of belonging to an Islamic State group cell that captured, tortured and killed western hostages in Syria says their killing was "regrettable" and could have been avoided. Alexanda Amon Kotey tells the Associated Press in an interview that many people within this Islamic State group would have disagreed with the executions.

Pope Francis presided over the Lord's Passion Mass at St. Peter's Basilica as part of solemn services, marking the Good Friday holiday. At the start of the most solemn period of the Catholic church calender, Francis struggled to lay prostrate in front of the altar in the basilica before the chant-filled evening service got underway.
