That’s how it is in Nanchang where a new amusement park relies entirely on digital entertainment. If you compare the two, the traditional theme park is much bigger and takes a long time to build. These VR theme parks can replicate the experience of traditional amusement facilities. Take this rollercoaster for example, it’s safer and more compact. It’s incomparably better than traditional amusement equipment in these ways. The park uses VR for a variety of attractions, including the roller coaster ride, a musical video game where you have to hit the right notes, and a shooter in a completely unreal environment. In the future, this technology should do really well. It really gives you the feeling of reality.

过山车是不是可以长成这样子——没有轨道、没有车身，只有一张椅子安置在机械臂上，外加一副眼镜。VR眼镜中的VR是指虚拟现实。南昌就有这样的过山车，这里新建了一家游园会，完全依赖数字娱乐。相比之下，传统的主题公园规模更大，修建时间更长。而VR主题公园可以提供跟传统娱乐设施一样的体验。以这个过山车为例，它更安全、更紧凑。从这些方面来看，它无疑比传统娱乐设施更好。该游乐园有多处体验使用了VR，非常吸引人，比如过山车、必须敲对正确音符的音乐视频游戏、在虚拟环境中体验射手的感觉。未来，这项技术会更加完备，它能让人体验现实感。

This is the first time I’m experiencing it and it’s great. The park wants to invest in a future technology and hopes to keep people’s fascination with virtual reality of life. For the technology, it is still highly experimental. VR was introduced with much fanfare a few years ago, but has failed to enter the mainstream since then. What we want to do with virtual reality is to break reality in its limits and experience things beyond reality, but in fact the VR we can experience right now has a lot of flaws.

这是我第一次体验，感觉太棒了。这家游乐园希望投资于未来的一项技术，并希望通过VR来持续吸引游客。目前这项技术的实验性还很强。刚推出VR观念的时候，噱头很足，但VR还是没能成为主流的一部分。我们希望通过VR来打破现实的限制，并体验超越现实的感觉，不过实际上，我们当前体验的VR有很多不足。

For example, although on the visual front, we can say we’ve broken past reality in our visual experience, there’s still a lack of physical feedback. Meaning we can see the virtual world around us, but we can’t feel them that limits the technology’s appeal from many applications. For now, one of its main uses is in professional training. For pilots for example, in this Boeing VR simulator, a real touchable interface is combined with a virtual world outside. Some significant development still needs to happen before we can virtually wander around in our houses, go for a walk without leaving the house or actually hold a product in our hands before buying it online. Nanchang hopes to become a significant virtual reality player in the future not just with digital rollercoasters.

比如，虽然从视觉的角度来说，我们可以说超越了现实，但物理上的反馈还是有欠缺。说的更具体一些：我们能看到周遭的虚拟世界，但却无法切身感受到，这是VR无法推广到很多应用的限制所在。目前，VR的一项主要应用是专业培训，比如飞行员的专业培训就可以在这个波音VR模拟器中进行：一个可触的界面与外面的虚拟世界相融合。我们还是做一些重要的研发才能实现在房间里虚拟漫步、足不出户地遛弯、在线购物之前就能把玩商品。南昌市希望成为未来VR的重要试点，而不只是单纯的数码过山车而已。
