The search is on for more dead and injured after a powerful tornado struck Lee County in eastern Alabama. The tornado killed at least 23 people and cut a track of destruction a half a mile wide.

South Korea's President says he wants to restart the US-North Korean nuclear talks. President Moon Jae-in said there were important achievements during last week's summit, despite its abrupt ending.

The US closed its consulate in Jerusalem, folding it into the US Embassy there. The consulate had served as the main US diplomatic mission to the Palestinians for decades.

And a winter storm is bringing heavy snow to the northeastern US. A state of emergency was declared in New Jersey. While New York City could get up to 8 inches of snow.
