One county is under a state of emergency after Southern California's strongest earthquake in 20 years. At least 2 house fires and multiple injuries have been reported after the magnitude 6.4 quake struck about 150 miles northeast of Los Angeles.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has asked Italy's Prime Minister for help, improving his country's relations with the EU. Putin, while visiting Rome, also went to the Vatican and met with Pope Francis.

A jailed former Brazilian governor has told the judge he bought votes for Rio De Janeiro to host the 2016 Olympics. He claims he paid about 2 million dollars to several International Olympic Committee members.

And President Trump celebrated the 4th of July by speaking about the US military and American heroes. Military planes performed flyovers during his speech on the National Mall.
