Los Angeles police say they don't know why a man shot 4 people to death, wounding 2 others. The suspect eluded a 12-hour manhunt before he was caught.

An 18-year-old US citizen says he wasn't given enough food and lost 26 pounds while detained by immigration authorities. Francisco Galicia spoke to the Dallas Morning News. He was suspected of entering the country illegally.

And supporters of a planned giant telescope in Hawaii say it would enhance knowledge and bring high paying jobs. But some natives consider the mountaintop site sacred. The protesters have blocked the project for 11 days.
