President Donald Trump intensified his fight over the impeachment investigation, blocking U.S. European Union ambassador Gordon Sondland from testifying about the President's dealings with Ukraine. Turkey is building up its military presence on the Syrian border after President Trump says he's pulling back U.S troops from Northern Syria. The U.S. move clears the way for an expected Turkish assault on Kurdish fighters who fought alongside American forces to defeat the Islamic State. LGBT advocates gathered outside the Supreme Court as justices consider whether Federal law protects lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people from job discrimination. A decision is expected by early summer of 2020. And dozens of paintings by Congo the chimpanzee are on display at a high-end London Art Gallery. The works, part of a 1950s study by zoologist and surrealist painter Desmond Morris are expected to fetch around $250,000 when auctioned in December. |
