2019年CRI 《萨勒姆的女巫》拉开了今年国际戏剧影像展的序幕（在线收听）

"The Crucible" opened this year's International Theater Live Festival on Tuesday in Beijing.

周二，今年的国际戏剧影像展在北京开幕，《萨勒姆的女巫》是开幕影片。

Li Congzhou is the CEO of Beijing-based ATW Culture Media, which is the sole distributor of the National Theater Live program in China. He explained the reason why "The Crucible" was chosen as the opening title.

李琮洲是北京奥哲维文化传播有限公司的首席执行官，该公司是中国国家大剧院直播节目的唯一分销商。他解释了《萨勒姆的女巫》被选为开幕影片的原因。

"Yael Farbery is South African director, female director. But she approaches the production in a quite different way. Because she's quite stylish. So, one of her best works, 'The Crucible', is as familiar as a classic play."

“耶尔·法贝里是南非女导演。她以完全不同的方式处理作品。她很时尚。她最好的作品之一《萨勒姆的女巫》和经典剧目一样为人所熟知。”

This new form of theater, which is watched on the big screen, is increasingly popular for young Chinese audiences. The project was officially introduced into the country in 2015.

这种在大银幕上观看的新戏剧形式，在中国的年轻观众中越来越受欢迎。该项目于2015年正式引入中国。

Li explained some of the advantages and disadvantages of the format.

李琮洲解释了该形式的优点和缺点。

"I think it's a huge opportunity for the theatrical content to be presented to a larger audience, at least to different groups of audience. Like, in this year's international theater live festival with Broadway cinema chain. She has lots of audience who are fans of independent film. So for those fans who've never been in theater, they will see theater content in the cinema for the very first time. The disadvantage is something that we feel we cannot make it perfect, so if you really feel that live, you must go to the theater."

“我认为这是一个巨大的机会，让戏剧内容呈现给更多的观众，至少给不同的观众群体。今年的国际戏剧影像展与百老汇连锁电影院会利用这个机会。她有很多观众，他们是独立电影的粉丝。因此，对于那些从未去过剧院的影迷来说，他们会第一次在电影院里看到戏剧内容。缺点是我们可能无法做到完美，所以如果你真的想看现场版，就必须去剧院。”

As Li says, their audience is mainly female, aged between 20 and 35, highly-educated, and mostly fans of American and British television and film.

李琮洲说，他们的观众主要是20至35岁的女性，这些女性受过高等教育，而且大多是美国和英国电视和电影的影迷。

In 2009, the Royal National Theatre in London started its NT Live initiative, which broadcasts high-definition live performances of their productions to cinemas and arts venues around the world. It didn't take long for the new format to become a hit among theater lovers.

2009年，伦敦皇家国家剧院启动NT Live计划，在世界各地的电影院和艺术场所播放其作品的高清现场表演。这种新形式很快就在戏剧爱好者中流行开来。
