It's an idea CEO Mark Zuckberberg has resisted for years not wanting to promote negativity among Facebook's one-and-a-half billion users. But he acknowledged last December, they were thinking about a dislike button after so many requests from users. “People tell us that they don't feel comfortable pressing like… because like isn't the appropriate sentiment when someone lost a loved one or is talking about a very difficult issue.” The new option might not be called “dislike” if sympathy or empathy is really the goal. In a Tuesday Q & A session from the company's California headquarters, Zuckerberg used the Syrian refugee crisis as one example, saying it's important to give people more options than just Like. Facebook isn't elaborating… yet. |
