Sea turtles do not have an easy start to life from the minute they hatch. The baby turtles have to break out of their shell, dash across sand to find safety and food in the water-- and all this with hopes that they will not be eaten by a predator.

从孵化的那一刻起，海龟的生活就变得异常艰辛。小海龟必须要打破龟壳，冲过沙滩，到水里去寻求安全和食物--前提是它们没有被捕食者吃掉。

Fortunately, scientists may have found a way to help. New research in the Journal of Experimental Biology shows that having many siblings helps baby turtles. In larger crowds, each turtle uses less energy to dig and hence has a higher chance of surviving the journey.

所幸的是，科学家可能找到了帮助它们的办法。《实验生物学》杂志上的研究表明拥有多个兄弟姐妹对小海龟很有利。在一个大家族中，每只小海龟都能省点挖掘的力气，这样它们就更有可能通过这段旅程。
