Meanwhile — Dallas police say the sniper responsible for killing five officers last week, had been planning a major bomb attack.

The teens led officers from the city's west to the inner-melbourne suburb of Carlton, after spotting them in an allegedly stolen car. Police have arrested four teenagers in Melbourne after an hour-long car chase. Two police vehicles were damaged during the pursuit.

Protesters in Sydney are devastated after a 150-year old moreton bay fig known as the "Tree of Knowledge" was cut down to make way for a light rail project. Workers removed the tree in Randwick last night as about 40 protesters and angry councillors watched on.
