The high court has set an October date for a full hearing into federal parliament's dual citizenship saga. Prime minister Malcolm Turnbull says he's "very confident" the high court will rule in favour of his colleagues facing disqualification over their dual citizenship.

At least three Melbourne doctors are being investigated for allegedly helping parents avoid compulsory vaccinations for their children. The federal health minister says if the doctors are found guilty, he hopes the regulator will impose the strongest possible penalties.
