He and a 33-year-old woman were found unconscious on a bench at a shopping centre in Salisbury after being exposed to an unknown substance. 66-year-old Sergei Skripal was granted refuge in the UK in 2010.

Seventy-six years later, a search led by US billionaire Paul Allen has now located the wreckage around 800 kilometres off the coast of Queensland.
