According to BuzzFeed News, Twitter is no longer counting locked accounts in a user's total number of followers.

In a blog post Wednesday, Twitter stated that for most people, the drop in followers will be minimal.

However, for those that have purchased followers, the number of purged accounts could be much higher.

A spokes person for Twitter, Vijaye Gadde said this:
