Up to 400 Australian businesses were possibly targeted in a suspected Russian cyber attack that affected millions of machines worldwide. The UK, US and Australian governments say Russian government hackers carried out a series of attacks last year. The aim was espionage and to steal intellectual property.

Forensic police are examining the scene of a suspicious house fire in Brisbane's north west that's claimed the lives of two women and a man. Police were called to Everton Hills when neighbours heard explosions and cries for help around half past five this morning. Authorities say, at the fire's peak, the flames were twice as high as the house.

A judge has blocked the US president's bid to sift through documents seized by the FBI in a raid on his lawyer's premises last week. The documents are understood to include files relating to the payment of $130,000 to porn star Stormy Daniels.
