It began with the forging of the Great Rings

故事是发生在魔戒铸造之时

Three were given to the Elves

三枚赠予了精灵族

Immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings

他们是才智过人 相貌非凡的不死之族

Seven to the Dwarf-lords

七枚被赠予矮人族

Great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls

他们是群山之殿中杰出的矿工和工匠

And nine

另九枚

nine rings were gifted to the race of Men

另九枚戒指被赐予人类

who, above all else, desire power

最渴望追求权力的种族

For within these rings was bound the strength and will to govern each race

这些戒指都有着特别的力量用来守护着自己的种族

But they were all of them deceived

但是 他们依旧被蒙蔽了

For another ring was made

只因另一枚被铸造出来的魔戒

In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom

在魔多国度的深处 在末日火山的火海里

the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a Master Ring

邪恶之君魔王索伦秘密铸造了一枚至尊魔戒

to control all others

用来掌控其它的魔戒

And into this Ring he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life

在这枚魔戒里他把所有恶毒残暴之念和称霸世界的欲望融入其中

One Ring to rule them all

一枚戒指支配了整个世界

One by one

一个接一个的

the Free Lands of Middle-earth fell to the power of the Ring

自由的国度就这样沦落在魔戒的威力之下

But there were some who resisted

不过仍旧有人奋起反抗

A Last Alliance of Men and Elves marched against the armies of Mordor

人类与精灵最后的联军与来自魔多的魔军开战了

And on the slopes of Mount Doom, they fought for the freedom of Middle-earth

最终的决战在末日火山的斜坡上展开他们为中土的自由而战

nine rings were gifted to the race of Men,who, above all else, desire power 九枚戒指被赐予人类，最渴望追求权力的种族

above all else:尤其是, 最重要的是, 首先是, 第一是

You should put your honor above all else.

你应当把荣誉放在其他一切之上。

She longs above all else to see his family again.

她尤其渴望再见到家里的人。

And on the slopes of Mount Doom, they fought for the freedom of Middle-earth 最终的决战在末日火山的斜坡上展开他们为中土的自由而战
