According to Reuters, a federal judge approved a settlement between the SEC, Tesla, and Elon Musk.

The electric car company was investigated for fraud after Tesla's CEO tweeted plans to take the company private.

Under the agreement, Musk is required to step down as the company's chairman for at least three years, though he will remain it's chief executive.

The SEC also fined Tesla and Musk $20 million each.
