According to Business Insider, the White House has directed the Office of Personnel Management to hold off on giving top Trump administration officials pay raises they were slated to get.

The raises would have come amid a partial government shutdown in which 800,000 federal employees are currently furloughed or not being paid while working.

Before the decision, the scheduled pay increases enraged the Democratic party who called it "a betrayal of American workers"
