Digital Trends reports that injecting elderly people with blood from healthy youngsters might not be the answer to health rejuvenation.

That's according to a statement from the US Food and Drug Administration which suggests

that these claims are not only most likely pseudoscience but that they also post some major health risks.

The FDA says that there are significant public health concerns about the promotion and use of plasma for these procedures

adding that there is no proven clinical benefit of infusion of plasma from young donors to cure, mitigate, treat or prevent these conditions

and there are risks associated with the use of any plasma product.

The FDA statement continues saying that such treatments have no proven clinical benefits for the uses
