Well personally I usually communicate with family or friends by telephone.

我个人通常是通过电话和家人或朋友们交流。

Firstly of all, I feel more close to my family or friends by directly talking to them.

首先,我感觉直接和家人或朋友交谈更为亲近。

Hearing their voices gives me a sense of intimacy, especially for a student far away from home.

听到他们的声音会给我一种亲情的感觉,特别是对于远离家园的学生们更是如此。

Furthermore, it's more efficient to communicate by telephone.

此外,通过电话交流更有效。

I can directly describe my life and receive information about my family or friends in just several minutes,

我可以直接讲述我的生活并且在短短几分钟内掌握关于我的家人或朋友的信息,

while transferring information by letter or e-mail costs more time and energy.

而通过信件或电子邮件会花费更多的时间精力和成本。

So I'd like to choose telephone.

所以我选择电话。
