2. In Lebanon, Shiite Hezbollah gunmen seized control of key parts of Beirut from Sunnis loyal to the US-backed government. Three days of street battles and gunfights have killed at least 14 people and wounded 20.

3. Severe weather sweeps across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states. One person was killed when a small truck overturned in North Carolina. The storm also blew tractor-trailers off an interstate and heavy rains caused flooding in other regions.

4. In Crawford, Texas, it's the day before the big day. When Bush’s daughter Jenna gets married to beau Henry Hager, the first family is at their ranch. President Bush will take his daughter down the aisle Saturday evening before about 200 guests.
