1. Rescue workers in central China are frantically searching for survivors in rubble like this. Heavy rain continues to fall in the area after a 7.9-magnitude earthquake killed about 10,000 people. Chinese officials say there is a push to clear roads and restore electricity as soon as possible.

2. It's been a spring plagued by strong storms. Severe weather in Missouri, Oklahoma, Georgia and Alabama has killed at least 26 people. In Maryland, one emergency official says the state is experiencing possibly its worst flooding in five years.
