Diana: When I started my public life 12 years ago, I understood the 1)media might be interested in what I did. I realized then their attention would 2)inevitably 3)focus on both our 4)private and 5)public lives. But I was not aware of how 6)overwhelming that attention would become, nor the extent to which it would affect both my public duties and my personal life. 戴安娜：十二年前，当我开始公众生活的时候，我已明白传媒会注意我的举动，也知道其注意力将集中在我们的私生活和公众生活上。但没料到这份关注让人吃不消。它对我的公职及私生活影响之大，以至令人难以承受。我极其重视自已的慈善工作，期望在未来会少操一些心。未来数月，我将寻求更佳途径，把有意义的公众角色与所希望的私生活能结合起来。
