1.Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich says he will not quit a job that people hired him to do, telling reporters in a quick statement that he is not guilty. Blagojevich faces charges he tried to use his position for political and financial gain.

2.Skeletal remains found in the woods in Florida are those of three-year-old Caylee Anthony, DNA tests confirmed it. But they do not say how Caylee died. She disappeared in June. Her 22-year-old mother faces murder charges.

3.Midwest is reeling from a winter storm that has grounded flights and cut power. Farther east, the forecast calls for up to 15 inches of snow falling on parts of New England that are still dark after an earlier storm.

4.Up in Lapland, Santa Claus is getting ready to leave, making his annual Christmas deliveries. This part of northern Finland has been showered with the gift of more tourists wanting to see Santa. But there is fear economic hard times could keep Santa’s secrets away.
