　　歌曲由阿曼达-迈克布卢姆（Amanda McBroom）创作于1978年，由贝特-米德勒（Bette Midler）在其领衔主演的同名电影《The Rose》（歌声泪痕）中作为片尾曲首唱，阿曼达特别为她配的合声。影片推出后，获得了很高的评价，歌曲也让贝特夺得了该年度“最佳流行乐女歌手”的格莱美大奖。
