1. Officials have closed the viewing for Senator Ted Kennedy at his brother's presidential library in Boston where he lay in repose for two days. The viewing covered several hours over the two days, and thousands of people have filed by the flag-draped casket.

 2. The coroner in Los Angeles has confirmed it. The death of Michael Jackson is considered a homicide, caused primarily by two drugs. One of them was the anesthetic propofol. Jackson's personal physician told police he gave Jackson that drug after a series of sedatives failed to help him sleep.

 3. Eighteen years after she was kidnapped from a bus stop in front of her home, Jaycee Lee Dugard is described as "looking young and healthy". Those words are from her mother who was reunited with her daughter. Police say the kidnapped victim was kept hidden in her alleged abductor's backyard where she bore two of his children.  

 4. And a 13-year-old Dutch girl's dream of sailing around the world solo has been put on hold. Judges say the teenager is too young to weigh the dangers of the trip. They've ordered psychologists to spend the next two months assessing whether she is capable of undertaking the risky two-year-long voyage.
