1. Speaking ahead of next week’s G20 summit in Pittsburgh, President Barack Obama says in his weekly radio and Internet address that the global financial system is stabilizing. But he adds much work needs to be done to produce needed jobs and growth.

 2. DNA tests have confirmed the mastermind behind the 2002 Bali bombing has been killed. Noordin Top was apparently shot dead in a gun battle with Indonesian police on Thursday.

 3. A strong earthquake has hit Indonesia, leaving several people hurt. But the magnitude 5.8 quake doesn’t appear to have caused any major damage.

 4. A Baltimore suburb will be bailing itself out today after being swamped by a water main break yesterday. The water flooded cars and trapped some residents in their homes. Several people were rescued but no one was hurt.
